Diego De Arena

Diego de Arena is a graphic designer and illustrator with a degree in Design from Duoc UC in Santiago, Chile, and a postgraduate degree in Illustration from FADU at the University of Buenos Aires. His work is diverse and constantly seeks creative ways to tell stories that resonate with people. Throughout his career, Diego has achieved significant milestones that inspire him to keep growing. In 2019, his piece Jarana Salvaje was recognized in the 10th edition of the Iberoamérica Ilustra competition. His first book, Muchos Somos (Calibroscopio, 2020), was selected in the Poetry category by Banco del Libro in Venezuela. In 2023, his illustrated book La Higuera (a co-edition by Claraboya and Pez Menta) received the Colibrí Medal in Chile and also won in the Poetry category of Banco del Libro. Today, Diego focuses on creating projects as an author-illustrator, blending illustration and writing to craft meaningful stories with depth, sensitivity, and a touch of humor. He is passionate about exploring human emotions through his work and creating stories that invite readers to reflect and laugh.
