Co-Director

Flor Capella

Born in Buenos Aires in 1981. Illustrator and graphic designer (FADU-UBA). Co-director of the Professional Illustration postgraduate course, Head of Practical Works of the Roldán Chair of Editorial Illustration and Co-director of “Argentine Illustration Archive” (FADU-UBA).
Her work has achieved several distinctions such as the selection of Bologna Children’s Book Fair, Society of Illustrators New York, “Iberoamérica Ilustra” FIL Guadalajara, “Image of the Book” Moscow International Book Fair, “Movements and Moments"" Feminist Generations Goethe Institute, “Illustrator of the Year” ADA, “Sello de Buen Diseño Argentino”. Her work is part of the IDA Foundation Collection (Research in Argentine Design) and she has won the Creation Grant from the National Arts Fund for her project Contraimagen. She is a member of the gender-perspective design collective Hay Futura.

Laura Varsky

Graphic Designer graduated with honors and Specialist in Theory of Communication Design from FADU, UBA. She holds a postgraduate degree from FLACSO in Management and Policy in Culture and Communication. She has specialized in album and book design, receiving the Latin Grammy Award for Art Director in 2006, with nominations in 2014, 2015, and 2018. Notable recognitions include the Excellence Award from Communication Arts (2015) and the second national design prize from the Fondo Nacional de las Artes (2018).
In the field of illustration, she has won awards such as Chile's Amster Coré and is the author of illustrated books like ""Nidos que arrullan"" and ""Ay, barquito de papel."" Her work is part of permanent collections such as the Buenos Aires Museum of Modern Art.
She is a member of the gender-focused design collective Hay Futura, and has participated in collaborative and curatorial projects that explore new visual narratives in design and illustration.

Martín Laksman

Argentine illustrator born in Castelar, Province of Buenos Aires. Graduated from the University of Buenos Aires as a graphic designer, where for the last 10 years I have worked as the second chair in the Editorial Illustration / Roldán subject.
Martín also worked as Art Director for Independiente Athletic Club between 2016 and 2020, where i developed the guidelines and graphic content that are still in place today.

Today he works as a freelance illustrator for several clients in Argentina and abroad. His illustrations range from editorials to animations.

His work is generated by the constant reconfiguration of basic geometric shapes, always in search of simplicity without losing sight of a strong communicational content.

Taller

Patricio Oliver

Illustrator and graphic designer graduated from the University of Buenos Aires, specializing in character design, comics, editorial illustration, and licensed product design featuring characters. He has worked on illustrated books and published comics as an author, focusing on themes of gender, diversity, and superheroes. He is a Typography instructor in the Cosgaya chair, Head of Practical Work in Editorial Illustration in the Roldán chair, head of the seminar on Graphic Mascots and Character Design in the Graphic Design program, and a workshop instructor in the Professional Illustration Postgraduate program (FADU/UBA).

Member and co-founder of ""Viñeta Torcida,"" a Nomadic Library of Argentine LGBTIQ+ Comics; co-founder of the digital comics collective "Croma Comics," and collaborator in the "Argentine Illustration Archive.

Taller

Catriel Martinez

Art Director, Graphic Designer and Illustrator. He graduated from the Professional Illustration Program (FADU-UBA), where he teaches in first year.
He worked in printing and publishing houses, design studios and a museum. He has been freelancing since 2012. His illustrations appear in books, campaigns, magazines, murals, products and exhibitions. Working with hybrid languages is a premise in his practice, creating links between analog and digital techniques.

Delius

Delius, 1974. Comics author, illustrator, graphic designer and teacher.
Since 1996 her work has been published and exhibited in Argentina, Germany, Colombia, Spain and Italy.
She has published the books: “The Promised Path” (2022); “I can't live without music” (2017); “My notebook of drawings and vignettes” (2014); “Chiquilín de Bachín” (2007) and “I grew up until I was little again” (2006, with Adela Basch).
In 1993 she took classes with Alberto Breccia and she was part of the “El Tripero” collective until 2003.
Between 2008 and 2022 she was a member of the “Chicks on Comics” collective, with which she published the book “The cities we are” (2018, U.C.C.I. award).
She is a teacher in the Graphic Design program and in the Professional Illustration Postgraduate Program, FADU, UBA.
In 2022, she received the diploma of merit awarded by the Konex Foundation, as one of the outstanding personalities in Argentine comics during the last 10 years.

Christian Montenegro

Illustrator with studies in comics at Alberto Breccia's workshop and in the graphic design career at the UBA.
He’s been working in the field of applied art for Argentina and abroad.
He’s held exhibitions in CABA, Barcelona, Berlin, Santiago de Chile, Bombay, Mexico and Teheran.
He’s been selected to be part of the anthologies ""Illustration Now"" and ""100 Illustrators"" by Taschen publishing house, ""50 Years of Illustration"" by Laurence King the publishing house and the catalogs ""When cows fly..."" of the Bologna Children's Fair, the American Illustration 35 of the American Illustration Society and ""100 years of the Coca-Cola bottle""
He’s received awards and mentions: Special Swatch Award at Illustrative 2009 Berlin. Selected by the ALIJA Foundation in 2014, 2022 and 2023. Selected to be part of the White Ravens catalog. Chosen for the exhibition and catalogue of the ILUSTRARTE 2021 biennial, Portugal. He was a finalist in the 20th Edition of the Junceda Awards of the Associació Professional d'Il·lustradors de Catalunya Global Category, 2022

Gabriela Salem

Gabriela Salem (1978) is a graphic designer, illustrator and teacher at the University of Buenos Aires. She is also a Magister in Communication Theory.
Her work explores the relationship between water and pigment, in a dialogue of forces and tensions. She works on illustration in watercolor, paint, collage and creates digital illustration.
She illustrated the book “Una nube brillante. Un viaje por el imaginario de Silvina Ocampo” (MareMium 2024), the children’s book “El tiempo de Dito” (Eudeba 2023, winner of the best prize Illustrated Story by ALIJA IBBY Argentina); the poetry sections of the books of Language and Literature I, II, III (Edelvives 2023); the black novel “Bossi, memorias de un narco español” (Grupo Kapel, España, 2022) and the argentinian chapter of “Solstice” (What on Earth Books, United Kingdom, 2024).
Her work has been published in media such as The Washington Post, Wander Magazine, Revista Acción, El Gato y la Caja, Revista Anfibia and Revista Ohlalá.

Agustin Sciannamea

I am a graphic designer and artist, I work as an illustrator for motion graphics for
television, I specialized in cartoons (Zamba and Siesta Z), in the making of
murals and as a teacher. I also have a parallel artistic production where
I freely and freely express my love and reflections on the symbolic and the visual.
I coordinated and illustrated different editorial projects to promote illustrators. I live in
Argentina, since 2004 I have taught Morphology II (Longinotti Chair) and from 2019 to 2023 in Illustration (Roldan Chair) at the University of Buenos Aires (FADU UBA). From
2023 as a tenured professor in the Design Laboratory 2, Bachelor of Design,
Torcuato Di Tella University (LAB2 LED UTDT) and from 2024 at UNPAZ-CUDI as a holder of the 2D Animation Workshop and UIX-GUI Workshop.

Pupe

Mariana Pereyra, Pupé, is a graphic designer (UBA) and illustrator, specializing in children's content. Since 2011, she has been a faculty member (UBA) teaching Illustration, and she also teaches in the postgraduate program for professional illustration (FADU). She has participated in several publications, including: "Me ayudas a dibujar un Pato?", Triqueta Verde Publishing, Spain (recognized as one of the best Spanish-language books by the New York Public Library, 2023); "Escuela de Humanitos", Hoy es Siempre Publishing, Spain; "Al agua Tila" and "Tengo mucho sueño", Destellos Publishing, Puerto Rico (also recognized as one of the best Spanish-language books by the New York Public Library, 2023, and by Fundación Cuatrogatos, 2022); Eureka, Abre Cultura Publishing, Argentina, 2021; Loli Lamar, Lecturita Ediciones, Argentina; "El canto de los zumbidos", Muñeca de Trapo Publishing, Chile. She won the First Prize at the Illustration Meeting Contest in Sao Joao da Madeira, Portugal (2022).

Marcelo Cafferata

Lucas Nine

Lucas Nine was born in Buenos Aires in 1975. He's an illustrator, cartoonist and animated film director.
His works have been published in several newspapers, books and magazines, and exhibited in America and Europe, on festivals such as the Children's Book Fair in Bologna (Italy). His work as an illustrator was awarded several times.
His animation works were screened in Argentine, Italian, Spanish, German and French (Annecy) festivals. He was screenwriter and director of one of the segments of the feature film “Ánima Buenos Aires” (2012), awarded in several animation festivals around the world.
His books as an author include “Dingo Romero” (Spain, 2004; France, 2008), “El Circo Criollo” (Argentina, 2009), “Thé de Noix”/ “Té de Nuez” (France, 2011; Argentina, 2015), “Les contes de suicidé”/ “Quiroga” (France, 2016; Argentina, 2018), “Borges, Inspector de Aves” (Argentina, 2017; France, 2018), “Budapest ou Presque” (France, 2019), “Delicatessen Tout Est Bon” (France, 2022), “La Peur Émeraude” (France, 2024), ""Las cosas que perdimos en el fuego"" (Argentina, España, 2024).

Matias Trillo

Mariana Ruiz Johnson

Born in Buenos Aires in 1984, she is an illustrator and author of picture books. She has published books for children on all continents. In 2013 she received the Premio Compostela de Álbum Ilustrado for her book “Mamá”, translated into more than ten languages. In 2015 she was the winner of the international silent book contest, Silent Book Contest, with the book “Mientras duermes”. She has been selected for the exhibition of illustrators at the Bologna Book Fair in 2023 and 2024. She teaches at the Roldán Chair of Editorial Illustration at FADU, University of Buenos Aires.

Panco Sassano

Diseñador gráfico, ilustrador y artista de Mar del Plata, Argentina. Con experiencia en branding, packaging, tipografía e ilustración, Panco lidera su estudio Mediato*, especializado en sistemas de identidad visual. Ha trabajado con marcas como Netflix/Doritos, Cerveza Patagonia, Despegar, Jagermeister, Coca-Cola y Rutini. En el ámbito tipográfico, ha colaborado con la reconocida fundidora Sudtipos en diversos proyectos, y su trabajo fue seleccionado para la bienal "Tipos Latinos". Además, Panco es docente de postgrado en ilustración en FADU y dicta talleres de tipografía, lettering e ilustración, fusionando creatividad y técnica en cada proyecto

Alejandro Iparraguirre

Senior Technician in Marketing and Electronics Technician, works as a producer, designer and cultural manager promoting the Video Games industry.
Professor for the Electronic Arts degree at ""tres de febrero"" National University, and teaches Video Games Design and Production at Buenos Aires University.
Presently he works in the Video Game Industry as co-founder of FundAV (Argentine Video Game Community), coordinates video games for the secretary of culture of the Argentine nation

Fernando Salem

He is a film director and screenwriter. He graduated as a Film Director from ENERC. He directed the feature films How Most Things Work (2015) and Death Doesn't Exist, and Love Neither (2020). Additionally, he develops content and formats for children's audiences. He is one of the creators of The Amazing Excursion of Zamba, as well as Siesta Z, and he writes for the series Petit, based on the work of Isol Misenta. These three series have earned him five nominations for the Emmy Kids Awards.

He is a teacher, speaker, and presenter at forums on audiovisual content for children's audiences and education. He was invited by Domestika to offer a course on Scriptwriting for Animated Series and Project Development. In his teaching career, he is a lead instructor and teaches Animation IV at the Universidad del Cine and is an instructor at the National Film School (ENERC). He also teaches scriptwriting in the Postgraduate Program for Professional Illustration at the University of Buenos Aires (FADU).

Mariela Mosnaim

Mariela Mosnaim is a lawyer specialized in copyright law. She works privately representing illustrators, cartoonists, designers, photographers, writers, scriptwriters and plastic artists in the negotiation of contracts with publishers, film, advertising, theater, television and digital platforms production companies; she advises and represents authors, audiovisual production companies and publishers in contractual issues related to intellectual property rights, international rights management and audiovisual production; she advises and represents authors, publishers and production companies in cases of plagiarism and piracy. She is counsel to the Argentine Association of Cartoonists and Illustrators (ADA)-

Juan Augusto Laplacette

Maria Aramburu

Maria Aramburu is a designer and consultant specialized in games and toys. She is a graphic designer from UNLP with postgraduate studies in Children's Products (UDELAR - Uy).

Since 2004, he has worked in the Argentine industry for various companies and has collaborated with international licenses such as Magic, Pokémon and Lego. Provides advice to local producers to improve the quality of their products and their positioning in the market.

He was a teacher of the Postgraduate Course in Games, Toys and Playful Interfaces at Fadu, UBA.
He is a professor of the Professional Illustration Postgraduate Program at Fadu, UBA.
He was a member of the Games and Toys collection project of the Pakapaka channel.

In 2022 she co-founded the Mujeres Jugueteras collective and UJJI, Union of Independent Toymakers and Toymakers in 2023. She received distinctions with the SBD and different players' clubs.

Coordinates the creative department of Ruibal, thinking of the game as an expression of our culture.

Angela Corti

Ángela Corti is a graphic designer from University of Buenos Aires since 2000. Specializing in pattern design and illustration applied to products and surfaces, she transforms her work into graphic art, objects, stationery, fashion and home textiles, tableware, and even murals. Her designs span various techniques, from manual collage to digital illustration.
She has collaborated on projects with both Argentine and international companies such as Urban Outfitters, Disney, Marvel, Hunter Douglas, Michaels, B. King, Oster, Nat Geo, among others. She participated in licensing fairs in New York in 2017, 2018, and 2019 with the collective she co-founded, ""With Love from Argentina."" Her work has been showcased throughout Argentina and worldwide.
She is passionate about her work, and her curiosity becomes her inspiration: architecture, world cultures, and plants are some of the things that move her. The use of color and large scale in her work are part of her personal imprint. She has been teaching for over 10 years at various institutions and at IlusPogrado since 2021.

Juliana Pedemonte

Born in Bahía Blanca in 1980, Juliana Pedemonte graduated cum laude from FADU-UBA as a Graphic Designer. Since 2003, she runs her own studio Colorblok, developing motion graphics, design and illustration projects for clients such as MTV, Discovery, Nickelodeon, Disney, Microsoft, among others. She taught typography II at the university, and published two color fonts with Sudtipos. Her illustrations appear in a variety of products such as skateboards, clothing, toys and stationery.

She has participated in numerous group exhibitions in Buenos Aires and abroad and her work has been published by Milan et Demi (France), Stash magazine, Die Gestalten Verlag (Germany) and Victionary (Hong Kong), among others. She teaches the Licensing seminar with Ángela Corti in FADU-UBA Professional Illustration postgraduate course.

Paola Pavanello

Paola Pavanello is a graphic designer (UBA) specialized in Project Management and in Social and Political Anthropology (FLACSO). Since 1995 he has worked in design and management of cultural projects. From 2008 to 2015 he coordinated the Design area in the Directorate of Cultural Industries in the Ministry of Culture of the Nation. Since 2014 he has been teaching at various universities in the country on subjects related to Cultural Management. During the years 2016 and 2017 she was Director of Culture in San Antonio de Areco, Province of Buenos Aires. He was a member of the Culture and Development Unit in Mercociudades. Between 2018 and 2019 he worked at the National Endowment for the Arts. In 2020 and 2021 he designed policies in the Cultural Management Secretariat of the Ministry of Culture of the Nation. Since January 2022, he has been in charge of the Federal Registry of Culture in the Planning Directorate of the same Ministry.

Claudio Aguilera Alvarez

Claudio Aguilera Álvarez is a journalist from University of Chile. He holds a Master's degree in Books and Literature for Children and Young Adults from Universidad Autónoma de Barcelona. Curator, researcher and teacher specialized in the history of illustrated books, illustration and comics. Author of the books Antología visual del libro ilustrado en Chile and Historieta chilena contemporánea (2006-2016), and of several monographs on Chilean cartoonists, he was founder of PLOP! Galería, the first space dedicated to illustration in Chile, and is currently Head of the Archivo de Gráfica Chilena of the National Library, dedicated to the conservation and research of Chilean graphic heritage.
